Get to Know Your New Braunfels Neighbors: Building a Strong Community

Hello, friends and fellow adventurers!

At Come And Plumb It, we’re more than just your go-to plumbing experts in San Marcos. As many of you know, our very own Paige has deep roots in New Braunfels, having dedicated over a decade of her career to Bluebonnet Chrysler Dodge and later McKenna. Her journey has given her invaluable insights into the heart of many communities, and that special connection extends beyond our city limits. In fact, New Braunfels holds a special place in our hearts, and we wanted to share some of the wonderful places that make this neighboring town so charming.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, New Braunfels offers a variety of activities and attractions that reflect its rich history and vibrant culture. Here are some of our favorite spots that you shouldn’t miss:

A trip to New Braunfels wouldn't be complete without experiencing the excitement of Schlitterbahn Waterpark. Known for its innovative water rides and attractions, it’s a perfect destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. From exhilarating water slides to relaxing lazy rivers, this park promises a day of fun and adventure.

Step back in time with a visit to the Gruene Historic District. This quaint area is home to charming shops, antique stores, and the iconic Gruene Hall, the oldest continually operating dance hall in Texas. It's a great spot to soak in some local history and enjoy live music in a truly unique setting.

For a serene escape, Landa Park offers picturesque scenery and a range of outdoor activities. With its lush greenery, walking trails, and the beautiful Comal River running through it, this park is ideal for a leisurely picnic or a tranquil afternoon spent by the water. This park is a family favorite.

If you’re a fan of fresh produce and local crafts, the New Braunfels Farmers Market is a must-visit. Held every Saturday, this market features a variety of vendors offering everything from organic fruits and vegetables to handmade goods. It’s a great way to support local businesses and enjoy some fresh, delicious treats.

For families with young children, the McKenna Children's Museum is a fantastic destination. With interactive exhibits and engaging activities, it provides a fun and educational experience for kids of all ages. Paige has fond memories of working here and where some of her best friends have been made and still appreciates the value of places like McKenna that make a difference in our community.

History buffs will appreciate a visit to the Faust Hotel, which has been a cornerstone of New Braunfels’ history since the 1920s. This historic hotel offers a glimpse into the past and is a wonderful spot to enjoy a meal or simply admire its classic architecture. This is also the hotel that Paige and Justin stayed at after they got married. And it is supposedly...haunted!!

7. The New Braunfels Brewing Company

For those who enjoy a good brew, the New Braunfels Brewing Company offers a delightful selection of craft beers. It’s a fantastic place to unwind and sample some local flavors in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

New Braunfels truly is a gem of the Texas Hill Country, with its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you’re looking to explore new attractions or revisit old favorites, this charming town has something for everyone.

At Come And Plumb It, we’re proud to serve our San Marcos and all the surrounding communities and cherish the connections we’ve made with our neighboring towns. New Braunfels will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope you find as much joy in exploring it as we do.

Until next time, happy exploring!
